As much as I've understood it so far, Brigid existed at a time when paganism and Christianity coexisted but Irish sources I've looked at mostly covered her Christian life for example talking about miracles attributed to her. There's also a tradition associated with Brigid where you hang a scarf or cloth or ribbon outside your door on the eve of Brigid"s Day and you collect it on Brigid's Day. The cloth is then said to have been blessed overnight and that it provides protection/healing for headaches and coughs.
Imbolc has made it's way to the US but over here it focuses more on the witchy aspects and the connection to Brigid is lost.
